Jojen Reed is Howland Reed's only son and Meera Reed's younger brother. Jojen has greensight, the power of prophetic dreams. He is thirteen.[1]

Jojen is barely an adolescent when he arrives at Winterfell, but his gravity and mature personality make him seem older.[1] He is short and slim with unusually deep green eyes, wearing green colored clothing.[2] He knows a number of arcane things that he gleans from his dreams, including the day of his death.[3]

In his childhood Jojen, nearly died of greywater fever. While he was near death, he was visited by a Trójoka Wrona that gave him the gift of greensight, causing him to experience prophetic dreams. One such dream involved a chained wolf that the three-eyed crow was trying to free from a chain. When Jojen told his father about the dream, Lord Howland sent him and his sister Meera to Winterfell. [3]

Starcie Królów

Jojen arrives at Winterfell along with his sister Meera to pledge the Reeds' support to Winterfell and Robb after Eddard Stark's death.[2] While at Winterfell, Jojen recognizes Bran Stark's skinchanging ability. Though he never demonstrates the ability himself, Jojen helps Bran gain more discipline to use the power properly. When he learns of Bran's vision of a Trójoka Wrona, Jojen begins urging Bran to travel north of the Mur to find the crow.[3] After Theon Greyjoy takes Winterfell, Bran, Meera, Jojen, Rickon, Osha and Hodor hide in the crypts until after the castle is sacked by Ramsay Snow. Finding the castle destroyed, the two Starks separate, and Jojen travels with Meera, Hodor and Bran north.[4]

Nawałnica Mieczy

Jojen flees with Bran, Meera, and Hodor north toward the Mur. They eventually reach Mur at the Nocny Fort and meet Samwell Tarly of the Nocna Straż. He leads them through a secret door at the bottom of a well that takes them through to the north side of Mur. There they meet Zimnoręki, an enigmatic figure of uncertain allegiance.[5]

Taniec ze Smokami

Jojen, Bran, Meera, Hodor, and Zimnoręki travel north of the Mur in search of the Trójoka Wrona.[6] They reach the cave of the three-eyed crow, but are ambushed by wights just outside the cave’s entrance. Because Jojen is too weak to continue, Meera carries him on her back. Inside the cave, the group meet the remaining Dzieci Lasu and the three-eyed crow.[7] Jojen falls into a resigned depression. He wants to go home to Greywater Watch. Meera implies while speaking with Bran that Jojen has had a greendream of his fate when he goes to Greywater Watch, and that the outcome is not good.[8]
